2010 Clean Team
Please join us on Saturday, May 1st at 10:00 am for our annual Clean Team event at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum - 506 West Michigan Street, Duluth, MN. We will also hold a work session on the 316. Pizza will be served for lunch.

2010 Convention Hotel Information
For those of you planning on attending our convention August 6-7-8 in Virginia here is the hotel information. Room are very affordable (versus summer peak rates in Duluth). A registration flyer will come out in late April.

DM&N Section House Kit
New to the MRHS Company Store is the Duluth Missabe and Northern Section House Kit. This kit was designed for the Missabe Railroad Historical Society and is based on the standard section house from early 1909 plans of the Duluth Missabe and Northern. Made by Sidetrack Laser.
Pricing is for non MRHS members is $75 (plus $5 for shipping).
Special pricing for MRHS members is $65 (includes shipping).
2010 Missabe Calendar

The 2010 Missabe calendar is now available. The photo, by Kevin Eudaly from a waste rock pile, is of a 3-unit pellet train passing through Gilbert on the Iron Range Division on June 3, 1985. The calendar comes in two sizes: large (25" x 35") with metal bands on top and bottom, and small (12" x 18") with no metal bands. The cost for the large is $12 and for the small is $10. Send check or money order made out to "DM&IR Veteran Employees Association" to: Print out order form and send with your payment. |

Through a generous donation from the Canadian National, the Missabe Railroad Historical Society is now the proud owner of SD-M #316. The MRHS board is asking the membership to donate funds to help restore the 316 and other Missabe-related prototype equipment the society has been involved with during the past few years, mainly caboose C-205.
These funds will be used to cover all costs to acquire, restore and maintain equipment as deemed appropriate by the board of directors. Costs, such as new paint, mechanical work, fuel, storage fees and insurance, all start to add up and it becomes important the society have a fund dedicated to covering these expenses. It is estimated that it will cost over $10,000 just to repaint the 316.
All those donating will be acknowledged in the "Ore Extra" and on a plaque in the locomotive cab. All donations are 100% tax deductable. Please consider donating today!
