DM&IR Mikado #1330 The locomotive is in a park on the north end of Gary not far from the United States Steel Gary Works. The Missabe returned this ex-Elgin, Joliet & Eastern locomotive to its original owner at the end of steam. Gary is a rough town, with most businesses and homes having bars on the windows and doors, and a fair number of burned out houses. Late morning would be the best time to see this ex-Missabe steam locomotive. Photo by Jeff Borne. Gateway Park, Gary, Indiana
