The MISSABE Railroad Historical Society
(MRHS) is a group of railfans, modelers and rail historians who have banded together for the express purpose of sharing a common interest in the Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range Railway, and its predecessors, the Duluth & Iron Range and the Duluth, Missabe & Northern.
Our mission is to provide an ongoing organized forum on the Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range Railway from a railfan and modeler perspective. This includes the collection and distribution of historical and current events information about the Missabe and its predecessors, and the industries it touches, including other mining railroads, mining operations, local industry, Great Lakes shipping, and interchange rail carriers.
We share this information with our membership through our magazine ORE EXTRA. This magazine is published quarterly, to the best of our abilities.
We are actively pursuing Missabe-related materials for the development of an archive. We encourage your input regarding photos, artifacts and memorabilia for purchase or donation. We solicit the input of those whose paths have crossed the Missabe, and who have the same passion to share what they have learned with others.
The Ore Extra is published quarterly, and features lead articles on aspects of the Missabe. It also features standing departments, such as:
Contents of past issues can be found in the Materials Department page. Contents of the latest issue can be found on the What's New page.
If you have an article or photos, contact the ORE EXTRA Editor.
